Abstract:
2005 HPCchallenge Award BOF
There would be two classes of awards:
Class 1: Best Performance Best base and/or optimized run submitted to the HPCchallenge website as of Nov 1. Since there are multiple benchmarks, "best" is a subjective term that would be decided by an evaluation committee. Special emphasis would be placed on: HPL, Global RandomAccess, STREAM and Global FFT.
Class 2: Most Elegant Most elegant implementation of one or more of the HPCchallenge benchmarks with special emphasis being placed on: HPL, Global RandomAccess, STREAM and Global FFT. This award would be weighted 50% on performance and 50% on code elegance/clarity/size.
The evaluation committee will select a set of finalists who will be invited to give a short presentation. This presentation would then be judged by the evaluation committee to select the winner.
There will be a cash award (provided a by a sponsor) that would be presented at this SC2005 BOF.
