Invited Speakers

SC|05 invited speakers provide a diverse view of supercomputing. Thomas Lange of Procter & Gamble (P&G) will discuss how modeling and simulation are used to drive innovation into the P&G product line. Cherri Pancake (Oregon State Univ.) and Laura King (UNESCO/IOC International Tsunami Information Centre) will describe work in predicting and mitigating the effects of tsunamis. Dimitri Kusnezov of the Department of Energy will provide a high-level view of supercomputing, describing its influence on the Nuclear Stockpile Stewardship mission and National Security. Finally, Anne Trefethen, Director of the UK e-Science Core Programme, will give an oversea perspective supercomputing, describing the UK e-Science Initiative as well as other European Grid projects. Typical of SC invited talks, these promise to be interesting and insightful presentations.
